Material Handler

About the role

Evonik (SEA) Pte. Ltd. is hiring a Material Handler. The role covers receiving, picking and issuing, loading and unloading, and acts as a banksman for incoming and outgoing trucks. Experienced handlers also train new recruits.

Key responsibilities

• Receive raw materials, finished goods and other incoming items, inspect them before storage, relabel where needed and enter records correctly
• Maintain the monthly sampling list, perform weekly and monthly cycle counts, and keep stocks properly palletised and safe
• Pick and pack shipments (drums and bags), inspect picked goods before stuffing, and assist in containerisation and truck loading
• Load and unload at the bay, coordinate daily loading with the shipping department and return completed loading documents
• Check finished goods visually before stuffing, ensuring no dented drums or broken bags and proper strapping
• Dismantle bulk containers and flexi-bags, draining residue into IBC tanks
• Act as banksman to guide incoming and outgoing trucks to their parking spots
• Keep the warehouse and loading bay clean
• Experienced handlers (more than 1 year in the plant) train new material handlers through on-the-job training

Required profile

• Minimum GCE 'O' level or equivalent
• Able to speak, read and write simple English
• Minimum 3 years of active forklift driving experience after passing the WSQ Operate Forklift course or holding a MOM-approved forklift driver licence
• Experience in receiving or shipment preparation for containerisation preferred
• Able to work overtime when required
