Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to create high‑precision mechanical modules for advanced packaging in the semiconductor industry. You will translate customer needs into robust designs, work with cross‑functional teams, and help drive innovation in equipment performance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse customer requirements and develop mechanical design specifications.
• Generate and validate concepts using force, thermal and vibration simulations, and estimate module lifetime.
• Select cost‑effective, manufacturable and reliable design solutions.
• Choose appropriate materials to ensure durability and compatibility with semiconductor processes.
• Design precision tooling, fixtures and 3D engineering models, and perform structural analysis.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and process engineers to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and seamless integration.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement activities to boost design efficiency, performance and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore safety, quality and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
• 3 years of mechanical design experience preferred; fresh graduates are also welcome.
• Strong interest in mechanical design, mechanisms and mechatronic systems.
• Passion for semiconductor equipment, automation or precision engineering.

Required skills

• Proficiency with at least one CAD or drafting software.
• Experience in force analysis, thermal simulation, vibration simulation and structural analysis.
• Knowledge of material selection, fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to create 3D models and design precision tooling/fixtures.
• Understanding of engineering mechanics and design for manufacturability (DFM).
