Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop high‑precision mechanical modules for advanced packaging applications in the semiconductor industry. You will translate customer requirements into robust designs, work closely with cross‑functional teams, and drive innovation in equipment performance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements and create mechanical design specifications.
• Generate and validate concepts using force analysis, thermal and vibration simulation, and lifetime estimation.
• Select optimal designs based on cost, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Choose appropriate materials to ensure durability and compatibility with semiconductor processes.
• Design precision tooling and fixtures for advanced packaging.
• Develop 3D engineering models and perform structural analysis.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and process engineers to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance design efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore safety, quality, and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
• 3 years of mechanical design experience preferred; fresh graduates are welcome.
• Strong interest in mechanical design, mechanisms, and mechatronic systems.
• Passion for semiconductor equipment, automation, or precision engineering.

Required skills

• Proficiency with at least one CAD or drafting software.
• Force analysis, thermal simulation, vibration simulation.
• 3D modeling and structural analysis.
• Material selection for semiconductor environments.
• Fundamental knowledge of engineering mechanics and manufacturing processes.
