Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Jurong Island

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our plant on Jurong Island. The role involves ensuring reliable operation of mechanical equipment and supporting Sembcorp’s energy transition initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform corrective mechanical maintenance on all plant equipment, including valves, piping and safety devices.
• Carry out daily inspections, address defects and breakdowns, and calibrate mechanical systems.
• Diagnose faults, conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Develop risk assessments and mitigation measures for each maintenance job.
• Apply for and manage Permit to Work as the Competent Person.
• Supervise contractors and coordinate with other maintenance trades.
• Withdraw and prepare spare parts from the warehouse for job execution.
• Manage CAPEX and OPEX for mechanical activities and provide daily status updates to operations.
• Participate in the company Emergency Response Team after training.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree.
• 3‑5 years of experience maintaining mechanical and piping systems in utilities or process industries.
• Strong organisational and target‑oriented mindset.
• Effective communication with vendors, contractors, technicians and managers.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, control valves, international standards and strict adherence to HSE requirements.
• Team player with a proactive safety attitude.
