Mooring Engineer – F(P)SO (Singapore/China)

About the role

The Mooring Engineer will lead the design, analysis and installation of mooring and riser systems for floating production, storage and offloading (F(P)SO) units operating in Singapore and China. This senior position requires extensive offshore experience and the ability to manage technical teams and deliver compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop Mooring/Riser Design Basis, philosophy, installation and hook‑up procedures, including metocean, geophysical and geotechnical data reviews.
• Perform advanced naval architecture calculations on stability, turret/spread mooring, motion, dynamic wave loads, flexible risers, hoses and structural analysis.
• Optimize hull, mooring and riser designs for safety, efficiency and environmental compliance, and prepare material take‑offs.
• Review and validate subcontractor and vendor engineering deliverables, manage technical queries and interface information.
• Create 3‑D geometric models and conduct global coupled analyses of the full F(P)SO with mooring and riser systems.
• Generate final as‑built drawings and computer models, and support procurement activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in hull, motion, mooring and riser analysis, design and offshore installation within the oil & gas sector, especially on F(P)SO projects.
• At least 5 years on offshore oil & gas processing projects and 3‑5 years in a senior or lead engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of marine and offshore codes and standards such as API, AISC, ASME, ABS, BV, DNV, ISO 19901 series, IMO, MARPOL, SOLAS and OCIMF.
• Proficiency in reviewing shipyard and vendor detailed drawings, resolving client/class comments and preparing technical reports.
