Operation & Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Operation & Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable performance of the Baggage Handling System (BHS) at Singapore Changi Airport. You will carry out both routine and non‑routine maintenance tasks, respond quickly to system faults, and support the installation of new equipment while adhering to strict safety and housekeeping standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and non‑routine maintenance activities in designated work areas.
• Respond promptly to BHS faults and disruptions to minimise downtime.
• Deliver and retrieve materials for repair, and manage excess inventory.
• Enter accurate work order data and update maintenance checklists.
• Assist with equipment modification, replacement, and new asset installation.
• Support overall site housekeeping, work planning and breakdown recovery.

Required profile

• NTC/Nitec/Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent technical certification.
• NTC/Nitec/Diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering for mechanical focus, or equivalent.
• Relevant hands‑on experience in maintenance of electrical or mechanical systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings or circuit diagrams.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts in a restricted airport area.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Frequency inverter operation.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Interpretation of electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems (advantageous).
