Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Gut‑Brain Microbiome

About the role

The Hwei‑Ee Tan lab at NTU LKCMedicine investigates how gut bacteria communicate with the host to shape physiology and behavior. We are seeking motivated postdoctoral researchers to drive discovery in the microbiome‑gut‑brain axis using mouse models.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments exploring diet‑microbiome influences on host phenotypes such as reward and anxiety.
• Perform in‑vivo multiphoton/2‑photon calcium imaging and analyze the resulting data.
• Conduct gnotobiotic studies, microbiome sequencing, and bioinformatic analyses.
• Maintain animal colonies, conduct surgeries, and carry out behavioral assays.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and contribute to lab management duties.

Required profile

• PhD in neuroscience, microbiology, or a related field with a strong publication record.
• Demonstrated expertise in either multiphoton calcium imaging or gnotobiotic/microbiome analysis.
• Highly motivated, independent, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
