About the role
NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory, a collaboration between Nanofilm Technologies International Limited, Nanyang Technological University and Singapore’s RIE2025 programme, drives innovation and technology commercialisation. The laboratory seeks a Project Manager to support the delivery of co‑funded multidisciplinary research projects across the campus.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project plans, Gantt charts, milestones, resource schedules and reporting timelines.
- Monitor project progress and expenditure, including planned‑versus‑actual analysis, and coordinate corrective actions where necessary.
- Coordinate with funding agencies, industry partners, university administration, principal investigators, researchers, engineers, suppliers and collaborators.
- Prepare project status reports, progress updates and financial summaries for different stakeholder and governance requirements.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, manage issues proactively and escalate significant matters appropriately.
- Support grant administration and ensure compliance with funding agreements, agency guidelines and university policies.
Required profile
- MSc and/or Degree in Engineering or Materials Science; a relevant postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.
- At least 6‑8 years of project management experience, preferably in a research, academic or multi‑stakeholder environment.
- CAPM or PMP training or certification, with active certification preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project or equivalent tools such as Smartsheet, Primavera P6 or ProjectLibre, as well as Microsoft Office.
- Experience applying waterfall, agile or hybrid project management methodologies to research‑driven projects.
- Strong stakeholder management, analytical, reporting and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Mandarin to communicate with suppliers, partners and stakeholders.
