Quality Engineer, Taste

About the role
The Quality Engineer – Taste will lead quality investigations, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance for IFF's taste division. Based onsite in Chin Bee, Singapore, you will work with cross‑functional teams to enhance process capability and support the delivery of innovative flavor solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead quality investigations and root‑cause analyses for non‑conformances and customer complaints.
- Develop, implement, and verify effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with Production, Process Engineering, Quality Control, and R&D to troubleshoot issues and enhance process capability.
- Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives and support process‑optimization activities.
- Provide technical expertise and conduct training on process methodologies, quality standards, and equipment handling.
- Plan, develop, and execute qualification and validation activities for new processes, equipment, and systems.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in and support internal and external audits, including ISO 9001, HACCP, and FSSC 22000.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Food Technology, Biology, Biotechnology, or Business.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, risk‑assessment methodologies (CAPA, HACCP), certification standards, and GMP requirements.
- Familiarity with the flavor, food, fragrance, or cosmetic industry is advantageous.
- Understanding of internal quality policies; ISO Internal Auditor or HACCP certification preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, independence in task management, and a proactive mindset for decision‑making and continuous improvement.
- Strong awareness of safety principles in chemical manufacturing, including hazard classification, proper handling, storage, and safe work practices.
- Proactive, collaborative approach to customer needs and cross‑departmental work.
- Effective communication, prioritisation, and proven project‑management experience.
