Research Assistant – Computational Analysis

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU is seeking a Research Assistant to support computational analysis within its Data Science and Artificial Intelligence programme. This position will work closely with biomedical researchers to translate biological questions into actionable computational workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain computational pipelines that support biomedical research projects.
• Communicate with researchers to understand biological problems and define analysis plans.
• Execute analysis plans, interpret results, and generate clear reports.
• Manage collaborative research data in compliance with data policies.
• Develop computational methods and systems to advance research activities.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Bioinformatics or a related life‑science or computational‑science field.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with life‑science and medical researchers.
• Customer‑focused attitude and ability to work on multiple projects in parallel.
• Willingness to provide training to staff and students in bioinformatics.

Required skills

• Programming (any language) for solving computational problems.
• Experience handling biological data.
• Understanding of computational infrastructure and data management.
