Research Assistant/Associate – Neuroscience (Parkinson’s Disease)

About the role
The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU seeks a motivated Research Assistant/Associate to join Professor Lim Kah Leong’s laboratory. The role supports a National Medical Research Council funded project investigating mitochondrial metabolism and lipid homeostasis in α‑synuclein‑associated Parkinson’s disease.
Key responsibilities
- Perform mouse‑based experiments, including post‑mortem brain section analysis via immunohistochemistry and biochemical assays.
- Maintain and experiment with induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) cultures.
- Conduct mitochondrial functional assays.
- Execute omics analyses as required by the project.
Required profile
- Minimum degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Prior experience with animal work; RCULAC certification is advantageous.
- Strong written and oral communication abilities.
- Detail‑oriented, independent, and well‑organized with good time‑management skills.
Required skills
- Mouse handling and experimental techniques.
- Immunohistochemistry and biochemical analysis.
- iPSC culture and manipulation.
- Mitochondrial assay execution.
- Omics data generation and analysis.
- RCULAC animal‑handling certification (preferred).
