The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at NTU Singapore is seeking a Research Associate or Research Fellow to investigate the metabolic basis of agronomic and nutritional traits in Brassica crops. Working within a multinational team, the successful candidate will apply advanced metabolomics and multi‑omics integration to link metabolite composition with genetic variation, supporting targeted metabolic engineering for improved crop performance.
Key responsibilities
- Perform metabolite profiling of segregating plant populations to identify compounds linked to disease resistance, quality and shelf‑life.
- Integrate metabolomic and genetic datasets to uncover metabolite–gene relationships.
- Identify candidate metabolic pathways and underlying genes associated with target traits.
- Conduct functional characterization and validation of candidate genes.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Plant Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related field (Research Associate) or PhD in Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Genetics, Plant Physiology or related discipline (Research Fellow).
