Research Associate (MEMS Development)

About the role

The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is looking for a Research Associate to carry out interdisciplinary research at the interface of microfabrication, functional soft materials and bioactive delivery systems. The role focuses on developing micro/nanostructured material platforms for controlled release, biological screening, microbial culture and food or biomedical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research aligned with the project and laboratory objectives.
• Design and perform experiments, analyse data and interpret research findings.
• Prepare manuscripts, reports, presentations and other research outputs.
• Contribute to grant proposal preparation and project documentation.
• Collaborate with researchers, students and external partners.
• Mentor and support junior researchers and students.
• Maintain accurate research records and comply with laboratory, safety, ethical, regulatory and institutional requirements.

Required profile

• Masters degree in a relevant discipline.
• Relevant research experience through doctoral training or equivalent research activities.
• Experience in manuscript preparation, research presentation or collaborative research is an advantage.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in a team.
• Self-motivated, responsible and able to contribute to research projects, publications and compliance with guidelines.
