Research Engineer I (Engineering and Materials Science)

About the role

The NTI‑NTU Corporate Laboratory seeks a Research Engineer I to oversee equipment operations, processes and maintenance, ensuring a safe and efficient research environment. The role involves coordinating equipment use, complying with safety standards, and leading a team of researchers and students toward successful R&D outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee research equipment operations, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Uphold health and safety regulations within the laboratory.
• Run equipment processes and perform maintenance to keep them in optimal condition.
• Coordinate equipment scheduling, delivery, and maintenance with researchers and project PIs.
• Lead and train laboratory research staff and students, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Stay updated on technological advancements and implement quality controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or related field.
• Research and development experience in nanotechnologies and thin‑film technologies (highly desired).
• Proven experience as an Equipment Engineer, Process Engineer, or similar role with a focus on equipment management.
• In‑depth understanding of research laboratory equipment, operations, and principles.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for robust working relationships.
