Research Fellow – Agricultural Engineering & Food Production

About the role
The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at NTU Singapore, in partnership with Wageningen University & Research, is seeking a Research Fellow to join the Singapore Indoor Farming System (SingFarm) programme. The fellow will work within Work Package 3.3 – Urban Demo Lab, translating research outcomes into demonstrators that showcase emerging food‑production technologies for industry and other stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams to select research results suitable for demonstration.
- Design and implement demonstrators, prototypes, or performance dashboards that communicate application potential.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings and stakeholder sessions to gather feedback and identify innovation opportunities.
- Engage potential partners or funders to support further development of promising ideas.
Required profile
- Completed PhD in a relevant field such as food systems, food production, sustainability transitions or related disciplines.
- Systems‑thinking mindset with interest in controlled environment agriculture and food‑production innovation.
- Proven experience converting scientific research into practical, stakeholder‑facing outputs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across disciplinary and organisational boundaries.
