Research Fellow - Data-enabled Predictive Control

About the role

The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at NTU is looking for a Research Fellow to work on the development of data-enabled predictive controllers for autonomous robots, with a focus on safety guarantees. The role sits within a multi-disciplinary research community with strong capabilities in robotics and engineering research.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to experiments, simulations or theoretical work aligned with the project's goals.
• Lead and co-author peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers or technical reports.
• Plan timelines, manage resources and report progress to the Principal Investigator.
• Build your own research profile and prepare for the next career stage.

Required profile

• A PhD in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics or a related field.
• Strong background in control theory, optimisation-based algorithms and/or machine learning.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A curious and ambitious mindset for research, a strong work ethic and effective time management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
