Research Fellow – Generative AI & Multi‑Modal LLMs

About the role

The Digital Trust Centre at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to advance generative AI research, with a focus on multi‑modal large language models (LLMs) and AI safety. You will work in a collaborative environment to develop robust, trustworthy AI systems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct advanced research on generative AI, designing and optimizing multi‑modal LLMs.
• Develop methodologies to ensure AI authenticity, accountability, and digital content integrity.
• Implement machine learning and deep learning algorithms, including machine unlearning techniques.
• Design and execute rigorous AI testing frameworks to assess and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to align research with ethical standards and AI safety best practices.
• Publish research findings in top‑tier conferences and journals.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Experience with Java, C/C++, or Go.
• Proficiency in PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Background in generative AI, multi‑modal LLMs, and AI safety.
• Knowledge of machine unlearning and AI testing techniques.
