Research Fellow – Geophysics & Geomechanics

About the role

The Centre for Urban Solutions at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to lead marine geophysics and data‑analytics projects. This contract position combines field survey development, advanced data processing, and scientific publishing.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in a marine geophysics research project focused on data analytics.
• Design and execute marine geophysical surveys and develop machine‑learning algorithms.
• Process and analyse geophysical and geomechanical datasets using machine‑learning techniques.
• Conduct research, supervise undergraduate students, and prepare project reports and scientific articles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in geophysics or equivalent.
• PhD in geophysics, geomechanics, or a related field from a recognised university.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• At least one year of research or working experience in geophysics (desirable).
• Experience in geophysical/geomechanical investigations and machine learning (desirable).
