Research Fellow (Mechanical Engineering) - Wave Energy Equipment

About the role

The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at NTU is hiring a Research Fellow to work on the design, manufacturing, team building and industrial promotion of an electrical generating system powered by sea wave energy. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.

Key responsibilities

• Design, research and demonstrate solutions for wave energy equipment components.
• Procure experimental consumables and manufacture and assemble prototypes of wave energy equipment.
• Liaise with and organise large-scale indoor tests of wave energy equipment.
• Expand channels and promote wave energy equipment at industry exhibitions.

Required profile

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or above.
• More than 3 years of management experience in the energy and aerospace sectors.
• More than 1 year of R&D experience in aerospace and defence industrial R&D, through a national elite engineer programme at a top-tier aerospace enterprise.
• Ability to manage and organise wave power generation experimental devices, coordinate large-scale experiments safely and solve technical problems.

Required skills

• Communication and written skills.
• Use of design software and manufacturing processing.
• Hands-on operation of advanced characterisation and testing instruments such as TEM, Cs-corrected TEM, cryo-EM, XRD and universal testers.
• Project progress control, channel development and industry exhibition promotion.
