Job description
About the role
The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at Nanyang Technological University is seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to the five‑year InVEST project, which aims to integrate volcano and earthquake science across Southeast Asia. The role focuses on developing advanced post‑seismic and earthquake‑cycle models to improve understanding of regional tectonics and associated hazards.
Key responsibilities
- Develop post‑seismic models that incorporate afterslip and viscoelastic relaxation for recent large earthquakes along the Southeast Asian Ring of Fire.
- Advance earthquake‑cycle models to investigate long‑term deformation on subduction‑zone megathrusts.
- Present scientific findings at local and international conferences.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in reputable peer‑reviewed journals.
- Participate actively in InVEST meetings and collaborative research activities.
Required profile
- PhD in Earth science, geophysics, geodesy, environmental science or a closely related discipline.
