Research Scientist – AI, Recommendation Systems & Graph Neural Networks

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Research Scientist to lead cutting‑edge research in advanced machine learning within the Alibaba‑NTU Global e‑Sustainability CorpLab (ANGEL). The role focuses on developing novel recommendation systems, graph neural networks and multimodal AI solutions that drive sustainable digital technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality research in recommendation systems, graph neural networks and multimodal machine learning.
• Design and develop innovative AI models for sequential recommendation, cross‑domain learning, self‑supervised learning and knowledge distillation.
• Analyze large‑scale structured and unstructured data, including user behavior, graph data and multimodal content such as text and images.
• Publish research findings in top conferences and journals and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related field.
• Strong research background in recommendation systems, graph neural networks and multimodal representation learning.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in academic and interdisciplinary environments.
