Resident Technical Officer (Architectural)

About the role

The Resident Technical Officer (Architectural) will support the Architectural Qualified Person (QP) and the Superintending Officer’s Representative (SO Rep) in supervising architectural works on‑site and off‑site. You will ensure that construction activities comply with contract documents, local regulations, and quality standards, contributing to the delivery of safe and high‑quality built environments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Architectural QP/SO Rep in supervising site works and off‑site manufacturing as directed.
• Verify that contractors follow preliminary items, contract documents, and prevailing authority regulations.
• Conduct quality control inspections of architectural works and ensure compliance with required standards.
• Check and confirm drawings, service routes, and contractor setting‑out points, reporting any discrepancies.
• Maintain comprehensive site records, including progress, test results, variations, safety logs, daily diaries, and material deliveries.
• Participate in site and technical coordination meetings as required.
• Provide standing supervision to contractors in line with building control regulations.
• Assist in verifying contractor reports and claims, and report on site safety and housekeeping.
• Respond to contractor queries, monitor main and sub‑contractors, and inspect completed works for defects.
• Cover duties of other Resident Technical Officers in their absence and perform any other project‑related tasks as instructed.

Required profile

• Diploma in Architecture or Diploma in Civil & Structural Engineering.
• Relevant experience in architectural site supervision and coordination.
• Familiarity with local building control regulations and authority requirements.
