Senior Assistant Director, Communications

About the role

The College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CoHASS) at Nanyang Technological University is establishing a new College Communications team. As Senior Assistant Director, Communications you will shape and execute integrated communication strategies that raise the College’s profile and support NTU’s institutional goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of a college‑wide communications strategy, branding, and messaging framework.
• Drive alignment across school and centre communications teams through collaborative platforms and joint initiatives.
• Design and oversee campaigns that showcase cross‑college research themes, interdisciplinary projects, and new research centres.
• Lead international communications to build partnerships with global universities and academic networks.
• Oversee production of high‑impact content highlighting research, academic strengths, events, and societal contributions.
• Provide strategic advice to the Dean’s Office on media engagement, reputational matters, and crisis response.
• Establish editorial and visual standards for publications, digital platforms, and campaigns.
• Manage vendor relationships and communications budgets.
• Monitor performance through analytics and reporting, applying data‑driven insights.
• Lead and mentor the College Communications team, fostering collaboration and innovation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in higher education, government or the public sector.
• Proven track record in strategic communications, campaign development and stakeholder management.
• Excellent writing, storytelling and editorial judgement for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and collaboration.
