Senior Cloud Data Infrastructure Engineer (APJ Remote)

About the role

The Cloud Scaling team at ClickHouse is building a cloud‑native, serverless database platform. As a Senior Cloud Data Infrastructure Engineer you will design, implement and operate the infrastructure that powers this next‑generation service for the APJ region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a cutting‑edge cloud‑native database platform on public cloud providers.
• Maintain and evolve ClickHouse’s in‑house Kubernetes operator for seamless infrastructure management.
• Improve the metrics pipeline and build systems that generate actionable statistics and recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with the core ClickHouse development team and other data‑plane teams to support infrastructure use cases and internal improvements.
• Architect and build a robust, scalable, highly available distributed infrastructure.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience building and operating scalable, fault‑tolerant distributed systems.
• Production experience with languages such as Go, C++ or Java.
• Hands‑on experience with on‑call incident response (PagerDuty) and debugging production issues.
• Strong expertise with at least one public cloud provider (AWS, GCP or Azure) and its IaaS services (e.g., EC2).
• Experience with data storage, ingestion and transformation tools such as Spark or Kafka.
