Senior Corporate Counsel, Global Trade

About the role

Amazon’s Legal Department is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to lead the Global Trade portfolio across the Asia‑Pacific region. You will be the APAC regional point of contact for all import, customs, transportation, logistics and supply‑chain legal matters, directly supporting AWS’s infrastructure expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal counsel on import, customs, export controls, sanctions and other international trade laws for cutting‑edge technologies.
• Develop innovative compliance solutions and translate evolving regulatory landscapes into actionable business guidance.
• Support regulatory engagements and advise on strategic legal and business decisions.
• Manage multiple complex legal matters simultaneously with precision and creativity.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across AWS and Amazon to shape compliance frameworks.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or international equivalent from an accredited law school.
• Licensed attorney with 10+ years of post‑qualification legal experience.
• Deep knowledge of international trade laws, including import, customs, export controls and sanctions.
• Exceptional research and analytical abilities with a track record of summarising regulatory impacts.
• Proven ability to work independently and influence senior stakeholders.
