About the role
The Maintenance Enforcement Division (MED) of the Insolvency and Public Trustee’s Office is responsible for improving access to justice by streamlining the enforcement of maintenance orders. As a Senior Executive / Assistant Director, you will lead casework and contribute to strategic projects that enhance the division’s operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of maintenance enforcement cases, conducting fact‑finding, conciliation, and reporting.
- Draft consent orders based on agreements reached between parties and appear via video‑conferencing for court recordings.
- Provide court support when judges request clarification on reports.
- Participate in projects to improve workflows, develop IT solutions, test GenAI products, and evaluate the overall enforcement process.
Required profile
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle hostile or emotional situations.
- Experience in family law, social work, or counselling is advantageous.
- Proven ability to gather, document, and store evidence in line with agency policies.
- Capability to assess financial information and propose practical settlements.
- Independent case management skills, ensuring compliance with SOPs and timelines.
Required skills
- Understanding of legal principles, relevant legislation, and government regulations.
- Ability to prepare high‑quality written correspondence and court documents.
- Familiarity with technology trends and willingness to adopt technology‑enabled solutions.
