Senior Firmware Engineer - SSD

About the role

Micron is looking for a Senior Engineer in firmware development for its SSD products. The role develops and tests firmware subsystems that meet or exceed the technical specification matrix for performance, endurance, capacity, functionality and quality/reliability, and runs firmware unit and functional tests throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop firmware IP subsystems for SSD products against the technical spec matrix.
• Develop firmware unit and functional tests to ensure quality, function and performance requirements are met at each integration milestone.
• Use AI-assisted tools and insights to improve efficiency, quality and effectiveness, and share AI-enabled improvements with the team.
• Communicate detailed, accurate information to management and multi-functional team members, including project status updates.
• Build collaborative relationships with peers and management, and support the personal and technical development of the team.

Required profile

• Masters or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Excellent communication skills.
• 2 years of equivalent experience in embedded systems development is an advantage.

Required skills

• Firmware and embedded programming, primarily C, with debugging experience.
• Ability to design, program, debug and modify software, troubleshoot firmware code, and use analog and digital hardware and software operating systems.
• Programming in machine language, assembly and high-level languages such as C and Python.
• PCIE/NVMe storage interfaces and NAND experience are a plus.
