Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our Bettr business unit and help shape the legal framework for tokenisation, FX, treasury services, and innovative financial products. You will work at the forefront of credit‑technology solutions that support internal business units across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary legal support and advice on cross‑border regulatory matters, including drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts.
• Lead legal support for tokenisation projects, liquidity‑management technology, FX and related financial products across several product lines.
• Partner closely with the compliance team to identify, assess and manage regulatory and compliance risks.
• Collaborate with legal experts in various jurisdictions on financial regulation, data privacy, intellectual property and tax issues.
• Support internal review and approval processes for new strategic initiatives and product launches.
• Manage external legal counsel relationships efficiently.
• Escalate issues appropriately and work collaboratively to deliver high‑quality legal solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in law from England, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia or another common‑law jurisdiction.
• Minimum 6 years post‑qualification experience.
• Substantial experience in financial services; blockchain or derivatives experience is a strong plus.
• Training at a top‑tier international law firm and/or significant in‑house experience in banking or financial regulation.
• Strong regulatory and compliance knowledge specific to the financial sector.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical and commercial acumen.
• Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) to liaise with Greater China offices.
• Team player, self‑starter, eager learner with solid project‑management skills.
