Senior Legal Counsel or Legal Counsel

About the role

NParks' Legal Services Branch is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel or Legal Counsel to join a team providing a wide range of legal services to support NParks' management and divisions. NParks manages and develops Singapore's national parks, nature reserves and public parks, regulates trade in wildlife and endangered species, and regulates veterinary establishments and practitioners.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and assist with legal matters relating to NParks' functions, duties and operations, especially contract, tenancy, claims and other regulatory and legal issues.
• Keep track of matters assigned to you and liaise with internal clients and external parties such as law firms and insurers.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in law (LL.B).
• Qualified Person under the Legal Profession Act 1966 or called to the Singapore Bar.
• At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in legal practice and/or as in-house legal counsel in Singapore.
• Prior experience in regulatory and/or public sector in-house counsel work is an advantage.

• An analytical mind and a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with good judgment to deliver sound advice and practical solutions.
• Good management and organisational skills, able to work as a team player and independently to meet timelines.
