Senior Manager, Corporate Strategy and Planning

About the role

NParks is hiring a Senior Manager for its Corporate Policy and Planning Branch, joining the SWP Transformation Team. You will lead end-to-end business process reviews across priority corporate and operational areas, working with divisions, HR, IT and, where relevant, external consultants, to simplify, centralise, automate or redesign processes and support their implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead assigned business process reviews from scoping and current-state analysis through redesign and implementation, identifying duplication, bottlenecks and opportunities to streamline, standardise, centralise, automate or redesign work.
• Shape the review agenda by identifying and assessing processes with the greatest improvement potential.
• Explore opportunities to use digital solutions, automation, data and AI, working with IT and relevant teams.
• Design and run workshops, interviews and focus groups to understand issues and co-develop solutions with stakeholders.
• Work with process owners and stakeholders to build future-state processes and recommendations, including implementation plans, risks and, where needed, business cases.
• Support change management, including stakeholder engagement, communications and adoption of redesigned processes.
• Apply BPR methodologies and frameworks, refine them from project experience and share good practice.
• Coordinate external consultants and collaborate with Organisation Development, HR and IT, presenting findings to senior management.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to diagnose process inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions.
• Able to give strategic guidance and work across divisions, functions and seniority levels.
• Skilled in running workshops and focus groups; good communication and presentation skills.
• Team player comfortable in cross-functional settings and in ambiguity, especially during scoping and prioritisation.
• Experience in business process review, process improvement, Lean/Six Sigma or change management, preferably in the public sector.
• Experience with process automation tools or platforms is an advantage.
