Senior Manager – Singapore Compliance

About the role

The Senior Manager, Singapore Compliance supports the Head of Compliance, Singapore, in delivering Westpac’s compliance programme for its Singapore Branch. The role provides high‑quality advisory and regulatory oversight for wholesale banking activities, ensuring that all operations meet local and group regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor compliance programmes and conduct risk assessments where appropriate.
• Ensure timely implementation of regulatory changes and flag any potential delays.
• Provide regulatory interpretation, advice on products and activities, and propose practical solutions.
• Challenge business proposals on risk grounds and escalate issues when needed.
• Deliver compliance policy guidance and training across the branch.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to guarantee adherence to laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Investigate and report compliance breaches, taking appropriate remedial actions.
• Maintain and update local and group compliance policies and procedures.
• Act as a primary contact for regulatory communications, on‑site inspections and coordinate responses.
• Support senior compliance leaders in overseeing compliance risks across the branch and related divisions.

Required profile

• Significant experience in banking compliance and regulatory risk oversight.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore financial regulations applicable to wholesale banking.
• Proven ability to develop, implement and monitor compliance frameworks.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across business units and senior leadership.
• Capability to interact with regulators and manage inspection processes.
