Senior Microbiologist (1-Year Contract)

About the role

GSK is looking for a Senior Microbiologist for a 1-year contract in Singapore. The role acts as the site microbiology subject matter expert, developing the monitoring strategy and operating framework for the site's water, environmental monitoring, utilities and product testing, in full compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and test water, environmental, utility and product testing samples according to quality requirements, and record results in compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards.
• Develop a strategy for environmental monitoring and water systems, and perform microbiological risk assessments for non-sterile products.
• Manage external microbiology laboratory service providers and suppliers in line with GSK requirements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, perform L1 audits and support L2/L3/L4 audits as Microbiology SME.
• Lead or take part in investigations of microbiology-related incidents and recommend remedial actions.
• Work with R&D groups on microbiology activities and risk assessment for new product introduction.
• Support the transfer of technology, knowledge and methodologies to standard order fulfillment.

Required profile

• Open to fresh graduates with a minimum degree in Microbiology or Life Sciences.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an analytical environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Good communication skills and basic financial management skills.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of GMP and microbiological test methods.
• Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements for controlled environments and water systems.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and plant layouts at GSK Manufacturing Business.
