Senior Pharmacist – Strategic Procurement

About the role

ALPSALPS is seeking a Senior Pharmacist to lead strategic procurement of pharmaceutical supplies across Singapore’s public healthcare institutions. You will ensure continuity, quality and cost‑effectiveness of medicines while collaborating closely with clinical teams and inventory units.

Key responsibilities

• Chair drug evaluation meetings with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and negotiate optimal outcomes.
• Conduct strategic sourcing, horizon scanning and market landscape analysis for pharmaceuticals.
• Stay updated on the latest pharmaceutical research developments.
• Produce and update drug specifications in line with compendial pharmacopoeia standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage pharmaceutical supply‑chain issues and product defects.
• Build strong relationships to strengthen procurement strategies and establish benchmarking.
• Communicate effectively with clinicians, nurses and allied health professionals.
• Lead and mentor the procurement team, including performance reviews and day‑to‑day guidance.
• Assist in developing and implementing national policies, innovative ideas and strategic plans.
• Review and revise SOPs and policies to improve efficiency.
• Identify, facilitate and administer projects on pharmaceutical procurement and supplies.
• Explore new roles and activities to expand departmental capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
• Registered pharmacist with the Singapore Pharmacy Council.
• Strong interpersonal skills with experience engaging stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
