Software Developer Intern

About the role

The Software Developer Intern joins the Project Delivery Group in NETS Solutions and reports to the Project Manager of the dedicated project. The intern takes part in change request development assigned by the manager and is responsible for application development and testing support.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in requirement elicitation and produce the required technical and operations documentation.
• Work with the Technical Lead on the analysis and design of code changes according to the finalised requirement specifications.
• Perform code changes and test the system according to the requirements specifications.
• Ensure work complies with coding and security standards and corporate processes.
• Carry out QA activities such as unit testing, system testing and code review.
• Support the Test Team in system integration testing and resolve reported issues.
• Support internal and external parties during testing stages.
• Assist in developing training materials.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Required skills

• Java, JEE, SQL/PLSQL and XML.
• Web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, modular design, Angular 5 and above or React, and open-source JavaScript frameworks.
• RESTful APIs, Spring 5.x/6.x, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Security, cloud-based technologies and microservices, including messaging middleware such as Kafka, IBM MQ and Solace.
