SSD Customer Validation Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring an Engineer, Customer Validation for its SSD business. The role supports the development and maintenance of automated validation infrastructure that assesses Enterprise SSD interoperability, functionality and reliability across customer-relevant storage environments. It contributes to cross-platform test automation, characterization of test environments and validation of SSD products across platforms and operating systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, integrate and maintain interfaces for new test equipment, validation tools and automation frameworks.
• Define, plan and execute automated test strategies that improve coverage, scalability and validation efficiency.
• Work with firmware, hardware, test and product teams to build robust validation solutions aligned with product features and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot SSD, software and platform integration issues by reproducing failures, finding root causes and driving corrective actions.
• Evaluate and improve validation methodologies to detect defects earlier in the development lifecycle.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve test scalability and repeatability.
• Maintain documentation of test methodologies, workflows, results and lessons learned.
• Support Agile development activities and collaborate with stakeholders across global sites and time zones.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or higher in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Structured problem-solving, analytical thinking and clear technical communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage priorities across multiple activities and stakeholders, and adapt to a fast-changing environment.
• Preferred: experience with Windows or Linux kernel, driver or low-level OS components, datacenter server platforms, storage systems and hardware validation/debug, and knowledge of NVMe, PCIe and storage architecture.

Required skills

• Python programming and object-oriented software design principles.
• Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Preferred: understanding of OS APIs (process control, memory management, device drivers) and Agile product development.
