Strategic Initiatives Senior Executive

About the role

Sulzer is seeking a senior executive to lead strategic initiatives that build long‑term capability health across Sales and Operations. The role focuses on designing, integrating and sustaining end‑to‑end capability systems that enable consistent performance, adaptability and future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design role‑based capability frameworks across Sales and Operations, covering core capabilities, proficiency levels, observable behaviours and outcomes.
• Develop practical assessment and diagnostic approaches that reflect real job performance and inform development priorities, role readiness and transitions.
• Create learning journeys and enablement models that balance on‑the‑job learning, coaching and formal training.
• Define transition and progression criteria for role changes, increased complexity and leadership pathways.
• Apply capability design principles to Sales Excellence, including value‑based and solution selling models and sales manager coaching.
• Coach junior professionals, lead investigations and ensure compliance with quality standards where relevant.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Engineering, Technical Education, HR Development or a related field.
• 5‑8 years of experience in technical training, competency development or business transformation.
• Proven experience implementing competency frameworks and managing trainer networks.
• Consulting or strategy experience in a commercial or industrial environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail in assessment and reporting.
• Ability to work across cultures and regions with adaptability.
