Senior Technical Recruiter for Consumer Devices

About the role

OpenAI’s Consumer Devices team builds AI‑powered physical products. The Senior Technical Recruiter partners with senior leaders to drive high‑value talent initiatives across hardware, software, design, research and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner to hiring leaders, aligning on priorities, org design and proactive pipelines.
• Source, engage and nurture top talent across cross‑functional technical domains.
• Use data (funnels, pass‑through rates, cycle time, source mix) to improve processes, leveling and compensation decisions.
• Shape interview plans and rubrics, ensuring consistent, inclusive assessments and a great candidate experience.
• Craft compelling closing narratives and navigate complex, competitive negotiations.

Required profile

• 8+ years recruiting in highly technical domains.
• Proven success hiring across hardware, software, design, research and/or operations.
• Ability to influence with clear data and market insight and communicate crisply with executives and candidates.
• Comfort thriving in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments while caring deeply about safety and impact.

Required skills

• Data‑driven recruiting (experience with metrics such as funnel conversion, cycle time, source mix).
• Strategic partnership and stakeholder management with senior leaders.
