Strategy & Operations Lead - SEA & ANZ

About the role

The APAC team brings OpenAI's mission, products and partnerships to life across Asia-Pacific, building a regional operating model that links strong local execution with global alignment. OpenAI is looking for a Strategy & Operations Lead to lead and scale operational excellence across South East Asia & ANZ, reporting to the VP for South East Asia & ANZ. The role acts as a bridge between global leadership and regional teams, translating global strategy into regional execution and helping the business scale consistently.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the South East Asia & ANZ operating strategy in line with APAC and global objectives.
• Drive execution across key markets, adapting to local needs, regulations and market dynamics.
• Partner with global leadership to prioritise initiatives and allocate resources.
• Establish KPIs, reporting frameworks and operating cadences to track performance.
• Build and optimise scalable processes across business lines such as consumer, product and partnerships.
• Identify operational gaps and run continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support market entry strategies and operational readiness for the region.
• Enable strategic partnerships and help build a strong regional functional leadership team.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing regional operations team and develop leadership bench strength.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading regional or international operations in a fast-scaling, complex business.
• Experience across multiple markets, functions and business lines, ideally in South East Asia & ANZ.
• Track record of building scalable operating systems, processes, metrics and reporting frameworks.
• Experience supporting market expansion, operational readiness and regional growth.
• Strong people leadership, with experience building and developing high-performing teams.
