Sustainability & ESG Consultant

About the role

SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company, is looking for a Sustainability & ESG Consultant in Singapore. The role grows the business and delivers ESG and sustainability services, supporting the ESG Sales team in promoting services to drive revenue growth while providing timely, high-quality delivery of Sustainability, ESG, Green Finance and Carbon/Climate-change services.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Sustainability, ESG, Green Finance and Carbon/Climate-change services with timely, high-quality delivery.
• Support the Technical Manager and ESG Sales team in managing marketing and promotional activities to drive revenue growth.
• Support the development of new products, certification services and market opportunities.
• Take part in periodic technical and qualification development in sustainability areas, aligned with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Stay up to date on ESG, Sustainability and Green Finance trends in Singapore and the wider region.
• Conduct research, literature reviews, benchmarking studies and data analysis.
• Manage multiple projects and interact with senior stakeholders.
• Build client relationships, understand client needs and deliver solutions that meet their expectations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical or Electrical Engineering or another sustainability-related discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in ESG and sustainability services.
• Experience performing assurance or verification services at reasonable or limited level of assurance.
• Fluent English and local language.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and industry compliance requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advantageous: qualified auditor and/or trainer in standards such as ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, NEA CPA, SRA.
• Advantageous: familiarity with GRI, ISSB/IFRS S1 & S2, CSRD, ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, NEA CPA regulations.
• Advantageous: experience in sustainability reporting, green finance and corporate client work.
