Team Lead – CDD Risk & Onboarding

About the role

Adyen is seeking a Team Lead for Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Risk and Onboarding to manage a Singapore‑based team that reviews merchants from risk, regulatory and compliance perspectives. You will work closely with Sales, Account Management, Compliance and Product teams to scale processes and ensure a healthy merchant portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team responsible for onboarding and risk assessments of new and existing merchants, handling escalations efficiently.
• Set expectations, monitor KPIs, SLAs and quality to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery across the onboarding lifecycle.
• Manage performance through 1:1s, coaching and reviews, fostering continuous development.
• Drive a performance culture focused on quality, customer experience and regulatory compliance.
• Identify skill gaps, create development plans and support team scalability.
• Lead process improvement initiatives and collaborate with Compliance, Product, Sales and Account Management.
• Use data to prioritize initiatives and measure impact on efficiency, risk quality and customer experience.
• Collaborate with regional and global teams to share best practices and align processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of people‑management experience in CDD, KYC or EDD operations or equivalent Second Line Risk/Compliance role within FinTech, PSP or financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of AML, CDD, EDD, KYC, PCI and Card Scheme rules and internal controls.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple operational tracks.
• Passionate about talent development and experienced in coaching junior to senior team members.
• Hands‑on leader willing to review complex risk cases as a Subject Matter Expert.
• Proactive mindset with a track record of driving continuous process improvements.
• Excellent analytical, stakeholder‑management and communication skills; fluent English.
