VP Business Finance – Expense Analyst (Group Finance)

About the role

The Vice President, Business Finance – Expense Analyst will lead expense and headcount management for the Group Finance function of a leading Asian bank. You will partner with regional business units to ensure accurate reporting, budgeting, and cost‑optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end closing for expenses and headcount, preparing monthly reports.
• Analyse direct and indirect expenses and headcount using driver‑based methodologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast expenses and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Oversee the budgeting process for expenses and headcount, ensuring compliance with bank policies.
• Handle operational expense matters such as budget transfers, accruals, GST, Capex, and PEMS queries.
• Manage PME cost allocation, keeping allocation drivers current and relevant.
• Coordinate the Staff Engagement Fund, reviewing claims and processing payments.
• Review wealth sales commission accruals and provide strategic oversight of the commission framework.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance or Business.
• More than 8 years of experience in the banking industry.
• Strong analytical ability, meticulous attention to detail, and capacity to work under pressure.
• Effective team player who can also work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for regional collaboration.
• Familiarity with financial reporting practices.
