Workday HCM Solution Architect

About the role

The Workday HCM Solution Architect leads the solution architecture, design and optimisation of Workday HCM capabilities across Prudential Group and its local business units. It sits in the Group HR Enablement team, which builds enterprise HR capabilities across Process Excellence, HR Technology, Reporting & Analytics, Engagement & Governance and Operations. The role partners with the HR Solution Excellence Lead, Group HR Process Owners, Workday Functional Leads and Group Technology stakeholders to turn business requirements into scalable, sustainable Workday solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation, configuration and optimisation of the Workday HCM solution stack, aligning it with business objectives and driving adoption of Workday innovations.
• Consolidate demand across COEs, LBUs and HR stakeholders into a coherent portfolio for a multi-year HR technology roadmap.
• Oversee HR technology programmes from concept through deployment, testing to stabilisation.
• Establish design principles, architecture standards and solution guardrails, and oversee solution conceptualisation for scalability and standardisation.
• Align HR leadership, COEs, LBUs and Group Tech on priorities, timelines and delivery expectations, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
• Act as subject matter expert across Workday HCM modules, engaging in solution design at depth without being a primary configurator, so the team can redesign HR processes.
• Drive standardisation of delivery methods, tools and reporting, embed lessons learned and advise the HRIS team on design specifications, process flows, mapping documents, test scenarios and change records.
• Support testing and enablement through unit, system, integration and user acceptance testing, and train and walk through solutions with business and functional teams.
• Build functional and architectural capability in the HR Technology team, mentor colleagues and stay current with Workday releases and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in the Workday HCM landscape.
• Credible experience leading HR technology and transformation initiatives in complex, multi-country environments.
• Strong solutioning capability across end-to-end HR processes, combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery leadership.
