Regional Senior Vice President – Reinsurance

About the role

The Regional Senior Vice President – Reinsurance will lead SG RE’s reinsurance portfolio across the Asia‑Pacific region. Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior executive is responsible for defining growth strategy, underwriting profitability and market expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the regional reinsurance strategy to achieve revenue, market‑share and combined‑ratio targets.
• Maintain full P&L accountability for the regional book, monitoring portfolio performance and market dynamics.
• Establish underwriting guidelines, risk tolerances and pricing frameworks for property, casualty and specialty lines.
• Lead high‑value treaty negotiations and oversee complex facultative placements.
• Build and nurture relationships with key ceding companies, regional brokers and strategic partners.
• Ensure compliance with regional regulatory requirements and enterprise risk‑management standards.
• Mentor and develop a high‑performing team of underwriters, actuaries and business‑development managers.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in reinsurance underwriting, portfolio management and business development, preferably across APAC.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Actuarial Science or related field; MBA or professional insurance certifications (ACII, FCII, CPCU) strongly preferred.
• Proven track record of P&L ownership and strategic leadership at senior management level.
