Research Fellow – AI, Fintech & Finance

About the role

NTU’s Global Institute of Finance, Technology, and Society seeks a Research Fellow to lead the creation of economic world models that integrate generative AI with quantitative finance theory. The role focuses on advancing AI‑driven methods for asset pricing, risk management, and other core finance applications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct theoretical and empirical research on economic world models for finance.
• Develop frameworks using generative AI algorithms (e.g., diffusion models) and theory‑informed methods (e.g., PINN, SKINN).
• Build agentic economic models that combine knowledge structures with reinforcement learning and generative modelling.
• Deploy models and transformer architectures for tasks such as covariance matrix estimation and time‑series forecasting.
• Collaborate with computer science and statistics scholars on multidisciplinary projects.
• Present research at leading finance, economics, and AI conferences.

Required profile

• PhD in Fintech, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Strong quantitative background (e.g., Bachelor in Statistics, Mathematics).
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and produce reproducible code.
• Strong interest in AI applications for finance.
