Senior Accounts Officer, Accounts Payable

About the role

The Senior Accounts Officer – Accounts Payable will support SMRT Trains Ltd.’s finance function by managing supplier payments, invoice processing and month‑end closing. The role ensures accurate expense control, cash‑flow forecasting and compliance with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, staff claims and inter‑company invoices.
• Prepare monthly creditor reconciliations, audit schedules and weekly cash‑flow forecasts.
• Maintain vendor master data and support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Reconcile clearing accounts, creditors’ aging and bank statements, and follow up on outstanding items.
• Liaise with suppliers, business units, auditors and statutory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and prepare GST and WHT filings.
• Participate in user acceptance testing and handle ad‑hoc administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Diploma in Accountancy.
• Relevant experience in a shared services environment.
• Meticulous work habits and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Capability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills.
