Workplace Safety and Health Officer (Construction)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Workplace Safety and Health Officer to lead safety initiatives for a main building contractor across Singapore. The role involves ensuring compliance with the WSH Act, MOM, BCA regulations, and industry codes while fostering a strong safety culture on site.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and enforce safety policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
• Develop, review and maintain Safe Work Procedures, Risk Assessments and Safe Work Method Statements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and walkthroughs to identify hazards.
• Stop unsafe work, advise on remedial actions and take corrective measures.
• Report, investigate and analyse incidents, accidents and near‑misses.
• Maintain up‑to‑date WSH documentation, training records and incident logs.
• Deliver site safety inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings and emergency drills.
• Lead safety committee meetings and liaise with authorities and stakeholders.
• Support the company‑wide EHS Management System and ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, bizSAFE implementations.

Required profile

• Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health or related qualification.
• Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer with MOM.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a WSH Officer in construction, preferably interior fit‑out or A&A projects.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH legislation, codes of practice and ISO standards.
• Proven ability in risk assessment, incident investigation, safety auditing and training delivery.
• Familiarity with CONSASS.
