Advanced Software Engineering Lead

About the role

Infosys Singapore & Australia is looking for an Advanced Software Engineering Lead to act as a senior, hands-on technologist within its Advanced Software Engineering practice. The ideal candidate is a polyglot across software engineering and cloud domains, with practical hands-on experience in AI engineering, and can lead multiple complex client engagements while adapting to rapidly changing technology and business contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement high-performance solutions across varied technology stacks (e.g., Python, Go, Java, TypeScript) and application architectures.
• Lead technical delivery, architectural reviews and migration planning across major clouds (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid environments.
• Design, integrate and operationalize complex solutions, including orchestration and accelerators.
• Manage several client portfolios at once, quickly assessing technical debt and pivoting strategies to client needs.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to client executives and engineering teams, translating technical concepts into business outcomes.

Required profile

• Deep, hands-on expertise in multiple programming languages and modern distributed architectures (microservices, event-driven, serverless).
• Ability to work in ambiguous, high-pressure environments and switch context between projects, client cultures and technical constraints.
• Strong executive communication, able to present architecture findings and migration roadmaps to technical stakeholders and C-level executives.
• Melbourne-based, with the ability to build strong relationships in the local tech ecosystem and client base.
• Nice to have: at least 12 months of hands-on AI engineering (LLM orchestration, RAG, agentic frameworks, prompt engineering, MLOps/LLMOps) and experience building with foundational models and deploying them to production.

Required skills

• Azure, AWS and/or GCP, including auditing infrastructure, capacity profiling and designing target-state architectures for cloud migrations.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep) and CI/CD pipeline automation.
