Assistant Cook

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join our kitchen team on a contract basis. You will support our chefs in delivering high‑quality dishes while adhering to strict hygiene and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to restaurant recipes and standards.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, peeling, measuring, and portioning as required.
• Support chefs and cooks in daily kitchen operations and food preparation activities.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and food preparation areas.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Monitor ingredient levels and inform supervisors when replenishment is needed.
• Perform kitchen opening and closing duties and other tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in food preparation or kitchen operations is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen‑related tasks.
• Availability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
