Assistant Manager, Research Achievements, Impact and Strategic Enhancement

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is looking for an Assistant Manager for its Research Achievements, Impact and Strategic Enhancement (RAISE) office. The office develops strategies to raise the research impact, visibility and reputation of the school at institutional, national and international levels, and sits within the LKCMedicine Research Administration and Support Services Department under the Vice Dean of Research Office. The post reports to the Head of RAISE and works with the School Faculty, Finance, Office of Innovation and Enterprise and Office of Patient Engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and use platforms such as Altmetrics to capture non-traditional research impact metrics (policy influence, societal engagement, economic contribution)
• Set up systematic frameworks to monitor, analyse and report research impact metrics, using AI-enabled analytics to spot trends and emerging signals
• Compute and deliver reports on grant income, including automated breakdowns of annualised grant amounts and grant end dates
• Analyse research grant data at school, programme and faculty levels, including external grant return ratios
• Design and implement AI-driven automation (scripting, machine learning models, workflow tools) to streamline data extraction, integration, validation and reporting
• Clean and harmonise data from internal databases and research systems, and build interactive dashboards and visualisations (Power BI, Tableau or similar)
• Work with IT and research systems teams to improve data infrastructure and real-time tracking of research performance
• Track metrics that feed into university rankings and opportunities to improve them
• Build relationships with faculty to identify high-impact publications for the school website, social media, press releases and magazines
• Support events that raise the school's research reputation and work with the Communications and Outreach Department to publicise faculty achievements
• Coordinate the annual publication on research impact and achievements with programme and centre directors
• Collect updates on media coverage, publications, awards and milestones, and help prepare the quarterly Dean's Management Report for the Governing Board and Board of Trustees
• Organise team and research programme meetings, prepare agendas, document minutes and follow up on action items

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma
• More than 5 years of experience in data analytics, designing infographics and creating professional PowerPoint presentations for management
• Background or experience in data analytics, academia, healthcare or research communications preferred
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, multi-task and work under pressure and tight deadlines
