Associate / Consultant, Indirect Tax - GST

About the role

EY's Goods & Services Tax (GST) team in Singapore is one of the leading GST practices, known for its technical competency and deep knowledge of businesses. The team offers GST advisory, assisted compliance assurance program review, assisted self-help kit review, GST return preparation and review, GST due diligence and GST training. As an Associate or Consultant, you will join a globally integrated team of indirect tax professionals who use technical knowledge, industry understanding and advanced tools to identify risks and planning opportunities for indirect taxes throughout the tax life cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with GST compliance by preparing GST returns and conducting GST reviews
• Handle queries from the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS)
• Provide GST advisory services, including GST due diligence and seeking GST rulings from the IRAS
• Help improve day-to-day reporting, reduce attribution errors and costs, and ensure indirect taxes are handled correctly in transactions

Required profile

• Degree in economics, finance, tax or accounting
• At least 1 year of experience (associate) or 3 years (consultant) in the GST department of a major accounting firm or at the IRAS
• Good communication skills, a team player and commitment to delivering quality work
• Ability to develop good client relationships and a positive, motivated attitude

• Ideally: good IT knowledge and SCTP accreditation
